Kyle Elite Concrete is a concrete contractor working in Kyle, Texas and the surrounding Hays County corridor, with more than 20 years of concrete placed on ground that changes character inside a single city. We handle residential and commercial work, permitted and unpermitted, from a single patio to a parking lot.
Two decades in one area buys something specific: we have poured on the black clay and on the shallow gravelly loam over limestone, watched both through dry summers, and learned which details held and which did not. That is the experience we bring to an estimate, and it is why our proposals talk about the ground before they talk about the concrete.
Our Approach

We price the ground before we price the concrete. Houston Black clay under Kyle carries a plasticity index of 44 and a linear extensibility of 12.0 percent, while Real gravelly loam a few streets away sits at a plasticity index of 18 and moves between 1.0 and 2.1 percent. Just over half of Kyle sits on Mollisols and just under 40 percent on Vertisols, so the honest answer to what is under your slab is that it depends on the address, and we go and look.
We also build to whichever Kyle document governs the job, and we say which one on the proposal. The city’s residential driveway checklist specifies minimum Class A concrete at 3,000 psi, 5 inches through the approach and number 3 bar at 18 inches on center on chairs at mid-depth, while the standard detail Kyle has adopted for driveways calls for 6 inches and number 4 bars both directions. Knowing which one you bought should not be a matter of guesswork.
There are three things Kyle bans by name and we do not substitute any of them: no hog panels, no wire mesh and no fibrous concrete in place of the bar, and no broken brick or rock used as chairs. We schedule the right of way inspection before the pour rather than after it, because Kyle inspects flatwork twice and the second look at final building inspection calls out cracking and crazing as failure conditions. A failed final costs a reinspection fee on top of the original work.
We check which side of the Edwards Aquifer line a site falls on before earthwork is scheduled, since TCEQ maps put 26.5 percent of Kyle in the Recharge Zone and 21.4 percent in the Transition Zone and plan approval attaches on one side and not the other. Foundation work here is engineered and permitted, and the city gives its reason plainly as the expansive soils in Kyle, so we work to a sealed engineer design rather than around one.
What We Do
We build concrete driveways, slabs and pads, patios, pool decks, sidewalks and walkways, retaining walls, stamped and decorative concrete, and commercial concrete, and we repair, level and resurface concrete that is already down. Whatever the job, the estimate starts with a look at the ground and names the standard the work is built to. Ask us for a free estimate and we will come and see what you actually have.
